Desire Under The Elms
In the inaugural season of "A Noise Within's" new $13.5 million theater in Pasadena, California I was again asked to write and perform all the music for a production - this time, Eugene O'Neill's "Desire Under The Elms". The production got terrific reviews and was a huge audience success. Here are some photos from some of the rehearsals. Unfortunately, there are no photos of me in my costume since I was doing the photography.
These are photos I took at two Dress Rehearsals of the 2013 'A Noise Within" production of Sara Ruhl's play "Eurydice" for which I wrote the music and performed it live at every show. With me, in this fabulous cast of extraordinary actors was Jules Wilcox who played Eurydice, Geoff Elliott, as her father, Graham Sibley, as Orpheus, Vincent Ryan Anderson, in the double roles of A Nasty, Interesting Man, and Lord of the Underworld, Abigail Marks, as the Big Stone, Jessie Losch, as the Little Stone and Kelly Ellert as the Loud Stone.
Lost In Yonkers
These were shot at the dress rehearsal of a homeschool production of "Lost In Yonkers" - the Pulitzer Prize winning play by neil simon. My oldest daughter, Csilla, played the rigid German grandmother, responsible for much of her family's difficulties.
These are shots I took at the dress rehearsal for the 2008 season production of Neil Bartlett's adaptation of "Oliver Twist" for which I was privileged to be a part of with the extraordinary repertory company "A Noise Within".
Rebecca Pidgeon at Molly Malone's
These are photos of my dear friend Rebecca Pidgeon who is the wife of the famous author/playwright, David Mamet. She is a fantastic singer and songwriter in addition to being a tremendous actress who has appeared in many films and TV shows. She graciously let me shoot a performance of hers at a local club - Molly Malone's - in December 2009. I urge you to go to her website and purchase some of her CD's. You will love them! http://www.rebeccapidgeon.com/
The Skin Of Our Teeth
A production of the Thornton Wilder play "The Skin Of Our Teeth" with older homeschool kids. My oldest daughter, Csilla, played the main character - Sabina - and also did all the costumes.
Love, Justice, Truth, and Beauty are the four attributes that permit us to perceive the Divine within our world. Ravishing beauty exists everywhere in our realm and my goal is to visually capture as much of it as I can. I find that I can’t specialize in any one limited area of photography because aesthetic loveliness is so abundant everywhere. If I am able, through my creativity, to transmit to others some aspect of those Divine attributes then I have successfully achieved my goal. The dark, gritty, underbelly of life is better left to artists who enjoy documenting that sort of thing. Instead, color, harmony, elegance of form, and simplicity of design are what attract and challenge me artistically, both in music and photography.
